Facial rejuvenation encompasses a collection of procedures designed to improve the long-term effects of gravity, advancing age, aging skin, as well as changes in deep soft tissue support and skin elasticity.
Dr. Landon's techniques are designed to address any one, or all of the changes responsible for aging of the face and neck.
A properly performed facelift will improve cheek volume and height, soften the diagonal lines adjacent to the nose called the nasolabial lines as well as improve and sharpen the contour of the jaw line restoring a youthful jawline. This will re-create the sharp distinction between the face above and the neck below.
The extent of the facelift surgery is tailored to the individual. Modifications of facelift surgery will include lifts that are more conservative by virtue of fewer aging features to lift that are more aggressive based on the client's desires for outcome. All lifts performed by Dr. Landon are designed to address the mutually agreed upon concerns of the client with no unnatural signs of surgical intervention. Additional procedures to enhance the results of the facelift may include brow and eyelid surgery, volume enhancement or reduction, and targeted skin procedures such as chemical peels or laser therapy to simultaneously address other aging features of the face and neck.
For patients with early signs of lower facial aging, particularly those around age 40 that wish to stave off the effects of time, mini facelift surgery may be all that is needed to obtain a great result.
Tiny incisions are situated near the hairline in this procedure, and then the skin & tissue on the lower face is tightened for a marvelous skin-smoothing effect that looks very natural. The face and jawline take on a more youthful appearance. Patients love that the results of a mini facelift are subtle;
That way, no one except you and your surgeon knows you had anything done to maintain your looks. Another benefit of the miniature facelift is that fewer incisions are required to complete the procedure than a traditional full facelift. The mini facelift recovery time tends to be quicker as well.
The consultation with Dr. Landon will focus on those areas of interest and plan a surgical strategy for your unique needs. During the consultation for a facelift Tampa plastic surgeon, Dr. Landon, will fully explain whether any additional procedures would be more appropriately performed at the time of the face and neck lift or possibly staged and performed at a later date. The decision to stage any aspect of your facial rejuvenation will be dependent upon client health going into the procedure as well as the client's timeline for recuperation.
Dr. Landon prides himself on being a good listener. The most important aspect of the consultation is a thorough understanding of the patient's concerns and secondly educating the patient on his or her options for managing those concerns. Dr. Landon may suggest procedures the client may not have previously considered. Incisions for a facelift vary from individual to individual. The incisions are highly dependent upon gender, hairstyle, length of hair, thickness or follicular density of the hair, general beard growth in the male and most significantly on the amount of excess skin to be removed. Every effort is made to camouflage the surgical scars such that visibility is minimal allowing the hair to be worn in the upright or down position with comfort and confidence.
The anesthetic agents used at Dr. Landon's facility are specifically suited for outpatient surgery. All postoperative medications are provided in advance for pain, nausea, and antibiotic prophylaxis. Stitches used to close the face and neck are removed in 2 sessions starting at 5-7 days for those visible stitches in and around the ear and approximately 9-10 days for those in the lower hairline. Postoperative dressings are only worn for the first evening after surgery after which the patient will be provided with a soft chin and neck support. Shower and hair washing is allowed on day number two.
