Who is a Good Candidate for Restylane?

Restylane has numerous benefits, however, not everyone is a good candidate for the procedure. The ideal candidate for Restylane is someone that:

Has realistic expectations of the procedure
Is not pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of the procedure
Wishes to improve facial contours without surgery or incisions
Is in a sound state of mental health to undergo elective procedures
Is free of chronic, uncontrolled medical conditions that may unduly increase injection risks
Is not allergic to lidocaine or has not had a past allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid fillers
Agrees to the rare, but possible, risks of unwanted side effects, some of which may be serious
Is bothered by mid to lower facial aging (wrinkles, fine lines, volume loss) that makes them appear older than they would like
Can follow simple aftercare protocol that is provided by the injector, such as avoiding NSAIDs and not rubbing the area after injection
Understands that aesthetic medical solutions such as dermal fillers are designed to provide noticeable improvement, but not perfection

Restylane Procedure

With Restylane Tampa area patients can request injections to be performed the same day as the consultation if desired. The procedure takes only a few minutes. This may involve marking the skin for more complex cases of dermal filler correction. The selected Restylane filler is prepared in a vial, with your facial injector selecting the optimal units of Restylane (measured in cc’s) to obtain the ideal amount of correction.

Every effort is made to ensure the patient is comfortable during the momentary injection. Restylane is hardly painful; Most patients report it feels like a quick pinch and a slight sensation of pressure as the hyaluronic acid (HA) is injected into the skin. In just a few minutes, the procedure is over and the results are generally visible upon injection.

Restylane Downtime

There is no Restylane downtime, but a small risk of bruising occurs in some people. For this reason, please note that it is best to have your Restylane procedure at least two weeks prior to any important occasions.

This can be concealed with makeup but can be avoided altogether by having the injection performed 14 days at minimum before special events. Restylane side effects tend to be mild and temporary. Among the most common side effects of wrinkle filler injections are mild redness, swelling, and tenderness at the injection site. These effects may subside in minutes or hours, in most cases. Delicate areas such as the lips and under-eye area may have prolonged swelling, which is generally minimal.
