3 Supplements to Minimize Bruising after Cosmetic ProceduresNow more than ever before, patients have a vast array of treatments available to help them look younger and feel revitalized. Bruising is a nearly unavoidable side effect of these cosmetic procedures, but the good news is that you can significantly minimize and control your post-treatment bruising simply by utilizing specific supplements beforehand! Anti-bruising supplement like arnica, vitamin K, and bromelain help to create an environment in the body for maximum healing. The sooner your bruises fade, the sooner you’ll be able to enjoy your incredible results!

Arnica

Arnica is an herb that has been used for medical purposes since the 16th century, and it is widely utilized in homeopathy to soothe muscle aches, reduce inflammation, and minimize bruising. Cosmetic surgeons strongly recommend using arnica a few days before your cosmetic surgery or injection and continuing to use it at least two weeks after your procedure. It is available in pellet form and as a topical cream.

Vitamin K

Since vitamin K deficiency is known to cause easy bruising, supplementing with vitamin K before and after your treatment can help avoid problems. Topical vitamin K cream is the perfect therapy to promote rapid resolution of bruising, especially when used in combination with arnica. You can also support your body’s blood clotting process by eating vitamin K-rich foods such as green leafy vegetables, fermented dairy, and brussel sprouts.

Bromelain

Bromelain is also a powerful supplement to reduce signs of bruising and swelling after your treatment. It is believed to break down proteins that trap fluids in the tissues after an injury. This makes it a powerful natural anti-inflammatory. In one controlled study, 58 out of 74 boxers taking bromelain lost all signs of bruising without four days of a match, compared to only 10 of 72 boxers who took a placebo. While pineapple does have a high quantity of bromelain, it cannot provide sufficient amounts to support bruise healing. A dose of 250 mg, three times a day, is recommended.

With just a bit of extra time and effort before and after your cosmetic procedure, can enjoy little to no bruising after treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, and surgery.
